Let's "Talk" Basics

Times are pretty wild right now, Veterinary costs are through the roof, animal medical cover likewise and decent animal food totally crazy.

So now we look at supplements and generally thoughts are – you just got to be kidding.

Well with the outrageous prices on all the above can you afford NOT to keep your animals in prime condition?

Like most things, however, you get supplements and supplements.

What you need to know

Many animal supplements are not always what you think and often contain cheap fillers and mixes. When comparing products;

  • Compare like-for-like on the ingredients specified on the label (it is law that all the ingredients are listed)
  • Compare quantity of said ingredients
  • Find out where that ingredient is sourced e.g. naturally or chemically
  • Make sure there are clear contact numbers listed for questions you may have
  • Check for allergy warnings
  • Make sure the ingredients are human-grade, not animal grade (animal grade more often than not contains residue from the previous ingredient added)
  • Ensure that the manufacturer is 100% accredited e.g. ISO, SA Vet registered and/or internationally accreditations

You may be surprised how few are fully accredited, and like you, my animals matter a great deal to me. Accredtation ensures the stability and effectiveness of the product measured against international standards.

Promix Animal Supplements take great pride that for 26 years we have complied and gone beyond regulations to consistently provide you with top grade supplements with a “proof in the pudding” – visible in the eye of the owner policy.

We continue to uphold those standards into the future.

Promix use zero fillers, chemicals or drugs, just pure, prime ingredients everytime.
